TIGHTROPE
Tightrope is an exhibition about our lifestyle and its development through history. Elias Sime, a prolific contemporary artist used discarded circuit-boards, wires, and other electronic components as a metaphor for global urban life. It took over seven years for him to collect the materials and meticulously compose and craft these large art pieces. He is intrigued by their place in technological development through history, and their relationships with the people who have used them. Elia says that TIGHTROPE is a reflection on his personal observations of modernity. In a world where relationships are moderated through the lens of electronic devices, TIGHTROPE attempts to reconcile Different components of TIGHTROPE were displayed at Alliance Ethio-Francaise, the British Council, the Goethe-Institute and the Italian Cultural Institute in Ethiopia.
