HIDDEN TALENT

From May 9 - 21 in 2005, the Ambassador to the European Commission in Ethiopia, HE Tim Clark asked Meskerem Assegued to come up with public art concept for the Europe Day celebration in Addis Ababa. She then suggested a public mural to be made by hearing impaired students from the Minilik Elementary School. Hidden Talent was a weeklong art activity that took place in the ballroom and the outside wall of the Bulgarian Embassy. The theme of Hidden Talent was storytelling through art. The children told stories about their lives and their dreams. It was an opportunity to show the public the true hidden talent of people with hearing and speaking inabilities.
